HaCon at InnoTrans 2014: Smart Mobility Solutions for Public Transport and Beyond

Hannover/Berlin Aug 25, 2014

At this year's InnoTrans, from September 23 to the 26, the HaCon team will showcase its latest projects and innovations. The timetable information system HAFAS, the Train Planning System TPS and the consultants' current EU projects will be at the center of attention. As a symbol of their close partnership, HaCon has teamed up with EOS UPTRADE for the first time to share stand 405 in hall 4.1.

At present, the further development of mobile HAFAS applications is strongly influenced by new portable devices on the market: Wearables, especially smartwatches, are on the rise and provide great potential for journey planners. In addition to displaying timetable information, HAFAS will also allow ticketing and navigation for the new devices. Another main focus of development over the past few months has been on Apple's new operating system iOS 8 that is expected in September. Several improvements are supposed to facilitate the use of iPhones and iPads - apps, too, need to be adapted to the next iOS generation. The HaCon team will give first, revealing insights into the current state of HAFAS at the InnoTrans.

With integrated mobile ticketing, navigation from door to door and comprehensive travel guidance services, HaCon created useful functions that travelers truly benefit from. Push services, for instance, give essential details and updates on connections and transfer times, always regarding the current real-time situation. Additionally, the software experts from Hannover will showcase numerous exciting features that guarantee continuous, multimodal and barrier-free routing with public transport and beyond – in the truest sense of the smart mobility approach.

Our Train Planning System TPS comes with lots of good news and improvements: Users benefit from boosted comfort and efficiency in timetable planning which has been expanded by components for strategic planning, including the graphical display of clock-face timetables. Another highlight to be introduced at the HaCon stand will be the new, integrated TPS module for vehicle planning.

The HaCon consultants will present their current EU projects SPIDER PLUS and ViWaS. Moreover, ITEC (Intermodal Terminal Eco-Efficiency Calculator) is a new expert tool premiering at the InnoTrans that provides reliable parameters for the specific energy consumption and emission values of different terminals and thus allows for even more precise analyses for intermodal terminal expansion planning.
