HaCon shortlisted for Lower Saxon Foreign Trade Award 2011
HaCon is at the top – the software specialist is one of six companies that have made it to the shortlist for the Lower Saxon Foreign Trade Award 2011. From more than 30 candidates, the eight-member jury pulled those on the short list who can demonstrate exceptional international success. The award, which went to the Aerodata AG from Braunschweig, and the nomination certificates were handed over by the Minister President of Lower Saxony, David McAllister, on Tuesday 5 April 2011 in the framework of the 8th Lower Saxony's Foreign Trade Congress at the Hannover Fair. He said: "The jury was faced with a difficult choice."
HaCon carries out more than half of its sales abroad. The timetable information system HAFAS by HaCon is deployed in more than 20 countries and is with over 100 installations one of the world's leading travel information systems. Each day, HAFAS computes more than 60 million connections. For example the online-timetable bahn.de of the Deutsche Bahn (DB) is based On HAFAS as well as mobile applications such as the DB Navigator for mobile phones, smartphones and tablet PCs. HAFAS is also inside the Austrian timetable information system SCOTTY by ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) and inside the passenger information systems of many other transport companies and associations worldwide. Furthermore, the timetable construction and management system TPS convinces an increasing number of clients across Europe. Many of the jobs created in recent years are directly related to the expanding international business.
Nomination is accomplishment of all employees
“The nomination is due to the commitment of the whole HaCon-Team”, said Managing Director and founder Dr. Volker Sustrate: "HaCon is indeed active in the B2B space, but must at the same time take account of the needs of the customers –namely passengers – of its clients, the transport operators. HaCon supports its clients in gaining more customers for public transport with timely, innovative solutions. "HaCon takes up trends in information and communications technology, such as smartphones and tablet PCs, and offers its clients functional applications.
