HAFAS for the iPad

Passenger can plan comfortably and have fun doing so when they will soon be using the new HAFAS Mobile application for the iPad. Cushy from the sofa or from anywhere on trip, the latest trend of Apple draws to the full on the technical opportunities the tablet PCs has to offer. A six-figure number of iPad applications is already available in the App Store. Special apps for the iPad are optimised for the high resolution of the screen.

Easy orientation: maps, compass and convenience
Focus of the application is a map on which public transport content is visually represented. HAFAS for the iPad will comprise the display of the nearest stations based on the current position, including compass, compact representation of route alternatives with door-to-door navigation, departure and arrival boards, connection details with indication of transit stops, route and real-time information and much more. In short, everything passengers are used to concerning comfort and function of the timetable information on the iPhone, they also find on the iPad. Additionally, even more features make it more pleasant to orientate themselves: The large screen makes it possible to present all the information at a glance. In particular, handling the high-resolution maps that can be zoomed with the fingers becomes a great experience – information and fun are combined in a whole new way.

The multi-touch surface of the iPad makes it easy to operate it – also for passengers who are not technology- or computer-affine. With the many apps that are already developed specifically for the iPad, everyone can assemble his iPad according to his personal needs.

In addition to the iPad-application, HAFAS will soon be available as a browser-based application for tablet PCs of other manufacturers. The web-application guarantees flexible access to HAFAS and optimum interaction via the touch screen.

Connection details show the next departures with arrival time, duration of trip, number of changes and mode of transport.
