HAFAS-SMS ... SMS based timetable information

HAFAS-SMS HAFAS-SMS provides timetable information by simple SMS text messages. Upon sending a SMS text message to the HAFAS-SMS online server you immediately receive the requested timetable information as another SMS text message directly onto your mobile phone. HAFAS-SMS enables any SMS-capable cell phone or palmtop to receive timetable information at any place. Compared to WAP this is a very cost effective solution.

HAFAS-SMS In a short and simple request message to the HAFAS-SMS timetable server you specifiy the type and the level of detail for the timetable information you wish to receive. Often used requests can be stored on your mobile phone and can be re-used without having to enter them again. Stations or stops can be specified by code numbers or abbreviations (e.g. car plates) to minimize necessary input on the small keyboard.

In HAFAS-SMS there is the expansion stage of the normal timetable information as well as the realtime timetable information (e.g. delays). If HAFAS-RealTime is used, it's also possible to let authorised persons enter realtime information by SMS.

HAFAS-SMS is an extension module for HAFAS-Internet. It can be used as a complete new all-in-one solution or as an add-on to an existing HAFAS-Internet installation. It can enable any transport operator to provide a wide range of timetable information to its customers in an easy-to-use solution based on the new Internet and mobile wireless technologies.
