HaCon turns 25: Change-over on top management level

[Hannover, June 2009]

HaCon's 25th anniversary is more than just one reason for celebrating. Just in time with the company's jubilee, the three founders of HaCon have passed on the main corporate responsibility to their younger colleagues. On June 19th, about 400 guests, among them customers, partners and staff, came to Hanover to celebrate that special occasion.

With its software solutions and consulting activities, in the last 25 years HaCon has turned into one of the leading companies for planning-, dispatching- and information systems. In order to continue this success, the three HaCon founders Dr. Marian Gaidzik (59), Dr. Werner Kretschmer (60) and Dr. Volker Sustrate (62) have long ago developed an innovative concept for the company's succession. Accordingly, the younger colleagues Michael Frankenberg, Werner Sommerfeld and Peter Talke have gradually taken managerial responsibility.

Step by step they became authorised signatories and partners in 2001. Four years later they turned into managing partners and have now taken main corporate responsibility by obtaining the majority of the company's shares. The computer scientist Frankenberg (39) came to HaCon in 1996 as software developer and project manager. Mathematician Sommerfeld (50) is part of the HaCon team since 1986. Talke (44), a graduate engineer, joined the team in 1995 as software developer.

"We appreciate the advantages of having three managers at the top. Therefore we want the following generation to continue this leading principle", the partners agree. "The good, trustful cooperation through the years has proven to be very successful. We are confident, that the responsibility for HaCon is in good hands", the company's founders are convinced.

In 1984 Gaidzik, Kretschmer und Sustrate went from university into business for themselves. The three engineers had studied and researched together at the renowned institute for transportation, railway construction and railway operation in Hanover under the guidance of Professor Rolf Kracke. The three focused on different aspects which later become the main pillars of HaCon: passenger transportation, freight transportation and science of railway operation.

Have now taken the main corporate responsibility at HaCon: (v.l) Werner Sommerfeld, Michael Frankenberg und Peter Talke.
