HaCon's timetable information system HAFAS for Denmark

The HaCon Ingenieurgesellschaft mbh, Hannover, welcomes new members at the HAFAS family - the Danish State Railways and numerous bus operating companies in Denmark.

On 12.07.2000 the Danish State Railways and the DB & T consortium of the suburban traffic companies in Denmark signed a contract with HaCon Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, Hannover, for the creation of a modern nationwide timetable information system of the next generation for all of Denmark. In a six months selective procedure HaCon has asserted itself against the competing companies in an Europe-wide invitation of tenders.

In the following months and years HaCon and its partners TLC, Wiesbaden and Informi, Kopenhagen will deliver an intermodal realtime timetable information system.

Apart from installations in North America and Japan, Denmark thereby is the ninth country, in which the timetable information system HAFAS is used. The Danish State Railway DSB has already decided on the timetable construction system of HaCon in the last year (DSB titled "STRAX"). "STRAX" will put into operation during this year.
