Head of Design (d/m/w) and User Experience (remote possible)

Do you use the HVV-, BVG-, another app or even an online ticketing solution in another city? Then we probably already have to do with each other on a daily basis! Our goal is to take cars off the road and contribute to more sustainability and livable cities. 

Hacon's award-winning applications enable an efficient and seamless travel experience that has beeing deployed over 80 times with more than 200 millions downloads.  Our Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solution allows intermodal trip planning and integrated ticketing in many countries and major cities around the world, from Berlin, Dubai to San Francisco.

We are looking for a design driven, passionate and creative leader, who will unite our design family of 7 passionate UI/UX designers (across multiple areas and locations) and create a design driven organization within our Mobility Software Business Unit.

 

YOUR CHALLENGES

Your mission is to inspire, mentor and lead our design team to newer heights and create a design driven and customer centric mind set in our organization.

Create a Design driven Organization by building a world class Design & UX Team

  • You have the opportunity to form an integrated Design Culture for our business and drive the transformation to the next level
  • You lead your Design/UX Teams across all Product Developments, mostly integrated cross-functionally into our agile Product Development teams across all our locations 
  • You raise the bar in all our Design/UX efforts and strongly align them to achieve our product and business goals
  • You develop a “north star” for the organization as an ongoing process of refinement and evolution
  • You manage to build a new design system as an integral part of our global brands
  • You help your team to grow personally and professionally by being a strong mentor
  • You not only establish these, but demonstrate them every day through your actions

Support our sales and marketing team with your design driven mindset

  • You support our sales teams to help our customers to understand their business and user challenges and how they can be best solved with a Design Thinking approach
  • You align and coordinate with the brand function in our Marketing team and support an integral approach

Elevate our unique products into new heights

  • You elevate our mix of unique products and custom build solutions to form new standards in the Mobility market
  • You aim with your team towards a powerful and scalable product approach that can be customized and adapted for individual customer requirements and projects
  • You transition with your team business ideas and customer visions into feasible features, MVPs and Products
  • You have a broad understanding of topics like Design System, UX Research and Design Methods
  • You establish a methodological toolkit, and make sure it is shared, understood, and used throughout the team

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in leading a Design/UX team
  • You have a high level of creativity and initiative 
  • You have proven track record of successfully guiding a company to a higher level of Design/UX maturity  
  • You have confidence in articulating your decisions, the ability to explain your ideas clearly and build trust with stakeholders in English and German
  • You have a process- and data-driven mindset and believe that a transparent, reliable process is part of the key to great Design/UX work 
  • You have experience with Design Systems 
  • You are based in Hannover, Hamburg or Berlin, remote working for most of the time possible
