Padam Mobility provides on-demand system for new mobility project AktiVVo

With "AktiVVo" the first on-demand transport in the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund starts on June 1st. In order to make the public mobility offer of its rural regions more attractive, the AVV relies on the on-demand technology of Padam Mobility for the implementation of the pilot project.

The service will initially operate in the Holzwinkel and Altenmünster, Roth and Zusamtal regions, transporting passengers in the defined service area to or from one of over 360 stops. The stops have been chosen so that users have to travel as short a distance as possible, thus ensuring easy access to the service for all. Passengers who are wheelchair-bound or traveling with small children can also be conveniently transported by "AktiVVO" - both vehicles have space for a wheelchair or a baby carriage.

Padam Mobility is providing the digital platform for this on-demand solution, which will offer locals and visitors to the region an improved and easily accessible public transport service. Users have access to a mobile app through which they can book rides and track the progress of the vehicle in real time. Alternatively, those who do not wish to use an app can book via telephone hotline.

The service gets users to their desired destination in the fastest way possible during operating hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Thereby, Padam Mobility's on-demand system makes it possible to calculate ride requests in advance and in real time and to bundle people with similar destinations in the same vehicle. A special background system shows the drivers how many people are waiting at which stops, and they are guided through the service area solely on the basis of the available bookings. A fixed route does not have to be taken. In contrast to scheduled buses, trips are made according to demand, empty kilometers are saved and travel time is significantly reduced.

The entire service area is divided into four different tariff zones, and the fare depends on how many zones are passed through during a trip. AktiVVo can be used with regular AVV tickets at no extra charge. From one-way tickets to strip tickets, day tickets, season tickets and subscriptions to the Deutschlandticket - all tickets are recognized in AktiVVo. Passengers who do not yet have a ticket can buy a ticket in cash from the driver or stamp the stripe card, just as on the regional buses.
