"There are more bicycles in Amsterdam than there are residents."

That's true!

In Amsterdam, there are an estimated 880,000 bicycles for every 850,000 inhabitants. And it's not just Amsterdam. Copenhagen has a similar figure, with 675,000 bicycles for every 602,481 inhabitants. In Münster, the figure is as high as 1.67 bicycles per capita, because there are approximately 500,000 bicycles per Münster's 310,000 inhabitants.
