  • The German Mobility Award in the Data and Innovations category goes to the OPENER next research project
  • Hacon is involved as a project partner
  • Approach: Make public transport in Germany more attractive and barrier-free

Hanover, November 8, 2022. The German Mobility Award 2022 in the Data and Innovations category was awarded to the research project OPENER next. The project partners are pursuing the approach of making public transport in Germany more attractive and barrier-free, and are also relying on the participation of citizens using an app.

Heike Twele, who represents the project on the part of the partner Hacon, is very pleased about the award. “Our information systems are technically able to determine barrier-free routes through train stations. A major bottleneck lies in the time-consuming collection of the required data. The OPENER next project offers a solution for this, and I am very pleased that the project is attracting even more attention and recognition thanks to the award.”

OPENER next runs under the leadership of the Chair of Circuit and System Design at Chemnitz University of Technology. More information at https://www.tu-chemnitz.de/tu/pressestelle/aktuell/11567/en
