- The new TransMi [app] is intended to enhance the travel experience for 4 million daily trips.
- Intermodal journey planning and real-time information will simplify the use of public transport in Bogota.
Hannover, May 27, 2026. Siemens Mobility subsidiary Hacon is providing the journey planning technology behind the Maas App for Bogotá’s TransMilenio system, bringing real-time travel information and smarter route planning to passengers across the network.
Bogotá operates one of the world’s largest Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, with more than 100 stations and approximately 114 kilometers of dedicated corridors. The TransMilenio network handles over 4 million daily trips, forming the backbone of mobility in the metropolitan area of 8 million people. Hacon’s routing engine enables the new TransMi [app] to calculate optimal journeys in real time across multiple transport modes. Using live operational data, the system allows users to view expected bus arrival times down to the minute.
"This project is a defining moment for urban mobility in Bogotá. Together with Siemens Mobility and Hacon, we brought world-class trip planning technology into the TransmiApp, delivering real-time, reliable mobility intelligence for more than 4 million daily journeys. It’s a powerful example of what can happen when public transportation, technology, and innovation align around a shared vision for smarter cities."
Juan Felipe Castaño, CEO of Maas

More than a digital tool, it represents our commitment to a more agile, connected, and user-centered mobility system for Bogotá."
