Award for Hacon Subsidiary

eos.uptrade among the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany

Getting the right ticket conveniently and fast with one “swipe“ only: On June 28, Hacon subsidiary eos.uptrade was once again awarded for its innovative strength at the TOP 100 competition that honors the most innovative of Germany's small and medium-sized enterprises. Especially in the categories "Innovative Processes / Organization", "Innovation Management" and "Open Innovation", our Hamburg-based colleagues made a very positive impression. In addition, the jury praised their Next Generation Ticketing software solution. It facilitates intermodal travel and thereby enhances the passenger experience.

Taking the bus to the train station, then boarding the ICE before finally covering the last mile with demand responsive transport – Hacon software seamlessly links all available means of transport to smart intermodal travel chains. It enables passengers to get from A to B just as well as with their own cars – often even faster! Buying several different tickets over the entire travel chain is a tedious task though. eos.uptrade’s smartphone-based Next Generation Ticketing solution improves passenger comfort significantly by automatically calculating the best price across all modes of transport beyond tariff zones.

Team Play for Trip Planning and Integrated Ticketing

Using the GPS-based Check-in/Check-out (CiCo), passengers register with a simple “swipe“ when boarding the train or bus and thereby receive a valid ticket for their entire journey. At the end of the trip, the check-out works the same way – then, the cheapest fare is automatically calculated and charged. To make this possible, Hacon and eos.uptrade work closely together. Hacon’s HAFAS system for intermodal travel planning supports the ticketing software in calculating the best price for the distance traveled.

Expanding mobile prepaid ticketing solutions is simple: The Check-in/Check-out option can be easily integrated into existing apps. In Germany, CiCo is a novelty and currently being tested by various transport companies. "In the future, the system will be able to recognize entry and exit automatically. Travelers don’t even have to get their smartphones out," says Michael Kujas, Managing Director at eos.uptrade.
